However, for these flash sales, I'm working on a first come, first served basis. Depends, unfortunately. If you're first in line and are asking for a fairly simple code, maybe a couple of days at most. If you're at the end of the line, we might be looking at a few weeks. I'll keep you updated on the time table, and you can always reach out if you have any questions. If it's taking too long, you're free to remove your name from the list. I'll send you a full refund.

❖ Can I take a spot even though I don't know what I want?
Sure! We can do this a few ways.

• You and I can go back and forth and workshop on it. I've got plenty of questions that might help you narrow things down. I'll be working on other commissions while we're doing this, at least until we have something in mind.


• You can just hold on to the slot! Feel free to consider it an IOU on my part for something in the future.


• If you take a slot but don't reply to my messages, that's also okay. The slot will still be there for you (if it's paid at this point). However, if I hear no response by the time I'm done with the other commissions, I may go ahead and open another sale. Your slot is still there, but your space won't take up another. I'll just keep a note that you've got that IOU whenever I hear from you again.


• If I lose contact with you and you haven't paid for the slot after X amount of time passes, a few months or so, I'm going to send you a final notif and drop the commission. No more IOU.

❖ Can I take a slot for a friend/in the name of someone else?
Sure can! Unless this is some sort of surprise, though, I expect to eventually talk to the person this is for. If they say they don't want the commission, I'll drop it and refund whoever sent the money in the first place.

❖ I took a slot on your last sale. Can I take a slot on the next?
Yep! The usual limit is one slot per person per sale, unless stated otherwise.

❖ Where do we send payment? Will you take DW points?
Paypal! If I'm willing to take points, I'll let you know on this post, but that'll be kind of rare.

❖ When do I pay?
At any point you're comfortable with, so long as it's before delivery.

Hello again! I got a journal preview over here for you to look at. I think it could use more frogs and things, but I wanted to see what you thought of the color palette and overall design for now. It's not ready for mobile use yet and the other pages (like entries and tags and such) aren't stylized yet, so it's just this for now.

I also tried out using light blue as the background to sort of mimic water, so wanted to see what you thought of that.

There's a very subtle dotted texture over the background to sort of break it up a bit, so we can change or remove that as you like. And I'm still iffy about the entry header font, but I'll do a little more shopping later.

I like the idea of texture! I'm not sure how fond i am of the little blue dots, maybe something different? Even slightly larger maybe or something more watery.

I definitely like the blue better. Maybe with a slightly lighter light blue on the border since it kind of gets lost? This is so freaking cute I'm so excited.

Hi! I updated the preview journal! Changed the entry header font to something more on theme (but let me know if it's too much) and added a new frog. I'm kind of thinking about letting this fourth frog sit at the bottom of the page instead of being fixed on scroll, that way he's a little surprise for whoever scrolls all the way down. Or maybe I'll do that with something else, like a lilypad or something.

But anyway! Changed the background color to a slightly darker blue instead of changing the light blue border. I think the frogs pop more that way, but let me know what you think of that. Also changed the texture to something like artsy waves, but I was stuck between that texture and this one, so let me know what you like best (or if it's neither of these and I should look for more dots, lol).

Oh I am loving the background color/texture change! That was definitely the way to go and it's perfect. I also really like the idea of the 4th frog (or something) being a surprise down at the bottom, wtf that's such a cute idea.

I liked the look/color of the previous font but this is ALSO really good. The previous one reminded me of the goofy frog on the side's tongue. But this one IS more on theme. The more I look at it tbh the more it grows on me lol.

I did notice a bit of weirdness with the tags on the second entry now that I'm looking on my PC at home (vs mobile and work computer). I use up-to-date firefox, and that seems to be where the issue is since it displays fine in chrome

Oh, that's a strange problem! I have an up-to-date firefox browser installed for just this sort of troubleshooting, but that issue isn't showing up for me at all. If you're using a skin for Dreamwidth, it could be interfering. If that's the case, we can edit this layout to work along with your skin. That's the first thing that occurs to me that could be causing this.

In the meantime, I put in some extra edits in the layout's code to try fixing the issue. It's hard to do without knowing what the problem is, of course, but I threw a couple of darts at the wall to see if something works. Let me know if that's improved it for you.

If you aren't using a skin and this issue is persisting, let me know and we'll try to find the problem.

HUH. Ok, I did some testing with my extensions and found the problem, since I don't use any site skin. (I had tested with some of my stylus stuff, but that didn't cause the problem and I didn't dig any deeper)

It's the DW tag recovery extension for firefox that's doing it. I'm not sure WHY as it shouldn't affect anything like that, it's just a form recovery tool.

If that's the case I'll just have to deal with it, unfortunately.

lmao I hate to tell you this but I went ahead and installed the extension just to see if I could help out and it still didn't do the glitch for me ajlksdfjs.

Regardless! I'll try to add some "fixes" to the code going forward. I have a couple ideas that might override whatever's going on and put this thing back in place.

I'll do some more work on it tomorrow and send you another update on the design. Hopefully, I'll stumble across the fix for the entry footers while I'm at it.

Hi! Back again with a design update.

First off, I changed up the entry footer entirely to put the tags on top of the other links. Let me know if that makes the issue better for you.

Second, I changed some of the colors on the links, particularly the sidebar and the entry headers. I kind of thought it made the headers pop more with this new font, so I tried it out on the sidebar, too. Also changed the font sizes on both. Please let me know if you like how they were previously better. I also found the font I used on the entry headers before, so I can switch it back if you do find you like that one better.

Third, I moved the fourth frog to the bottom. He only appears when there's a bottom navigation (ie. the Previous and Next buttons), so I added another entry to show him off. If you don't want him attached to the bottom nav, I can stick him on to something else.

Anyway, tell me what you think so far. I think we're getting close to finalizing the look of this. It's probably the cutest layout I've ever made, so I'm pretty happy whichever way this goes, lol.

Oh these are great changes! I really love how this looks. Font colors are great for headers and links. Would it be possible to make the fonts overall a little larger? I have bad vision (though I'm hopefully getting transition glasses soon, curse these old eyes) and it would help a lot. It's great when I change the magnification on the page to 110%.

The tags being where they are look fine now too, I'm really not super fussed about it but you found a really great solution and I appreciate you going to the extra effort to fix an issue that's really my fault LOL

Sorry I'm only getting to you now, my job has been a hellscape and I was actually out of the office tracking down old documents for like 4 hours today like some kind of extra nerdy Indiana jones.

I totally understand the curse of age. I upped the font size for the entry content and made it really easy to change it going forward if you find you need to do so in the future. I didn't change it for the entry date or the entry footers, but I absolutely could if you'd like that. Just wasn't sure if you wanted them to be a little more tucked away or not.

Anyway, glad to hear that the tags are behaving for you now! And lol no worries on the wait. You've been getting back to me very quickly over this process and it's appreciated. ♥

Details Time: I'd love to get a layout for my newest RP character, wayshadowed. I set up a different layout of yours last night but I kind of am itching for something else...

His basic vibe is that he's a spirit, kind of animalistic, but he's trapped in the mortal world on a quest to become a knight/get honor, so kind of a blend of nature/forest vibes, but also knights and chivalric imagery.

I would love some kind of splash page, or a faux-splash page where you can scroll down to get to the content. And if it could be as mobile friendly as possible that would be fantastic.

This vibe sounds really cool, and I like what you've already got going with the current layout. I can definitely work on making something better for you, though, that fits the vibes more. I think I'll start with a faux-splash layout, that way if you decide during the process that you like it better as a splash page, we can easily transition it over.

Let me know if there's any particular imagery you'd like to use! For now, I can use the one on your current layout, even if it's just as a placeholder. But if you'd like something different and aren't sure what, I've got a lot of copyright-free sources I can thumb through to find something else.

Awesome! There's sadly a lack of a lot of high res art for this canon, given that it's an audio medium, so go ahead and use the image I've got for now. I can poke around unsplash tonight/this weekend to try to see if there's something I'd like to use more.

Some color pallet choices to work with: greens, reds, blues (more sky blue than darker blues), honey/gold, brown

Hello! So, there's a million things I haven't tweaked yet and it's absolutely not totally ready for mobile yet, but I've got a mock-up of the overall design ready for you over here. Mainly, I wanted to get your opinion on the splash page part, since it currently looks similar to what you're already using. I wanted to keep the modules you were using (and the custom text will need some re-sizing, too), but I've rearranged them and added some different flair. The entries are also down below the page when you scroll. They have very little styling right now but you can see where I'm going with it, I think.

I changed the font you were using from Eagle Lake to Protest Revolution. It seemed to fit the vibe more? So let me know if you like that. I also removed the body's scrollbar to give it a better "splash page" appearance, but the page does still scroll. That's a very "form over function" move, so do let me know if you'd like to keep it.

Anyway, I just wanted to know what you thought about it before I continued any further. We can flip this to something else entirely if you want. Just wanted to check in. Thanks! ♥

Overall, I really like where your head is at! I do have a few tweaks, though.
- Love the splash page w/ scroll functionality. No change there. I'm on a Mac so the default scrollbar is still visible, so I don't think you need to stress over whatever magic you're working on removing it, lol.
- Looks great on both mobile and laptop! Well done!
- I love the blurred background effect over the navigation/links, but is there a way to do it without the little dot grid thingy there seems to be?
- Like you said, custom text font size should be bigger, but overall I like the placement of it.
- I prefer Eagle Lake over Protest Revolution. PR is a good font but it matches more Eursulon's canon mate's vibe than his own, I think.
- Could the background color on the entries be a little more green, rather than the tan you've got? Maybe #c6d4ba for a hex color. And maybe medium/dark brown for the links instead of green?
- For once, I think I would prefer sharp corners over rounded ones on the entries.
- I don't know if this will work with the way you've done the navigation module across the top, but is there a way to keep the dreamwidth control bar accessible? If not always visible, maybe appearing on hover like it does in the layout I'm using currently? That's one function I prefer to keep if possible.

Good to hear! I quickly updated some things on the preview journal, but there's still a lot of tweaking to do. To go through it real quick:

- Since you get the default browser scrollbar, anyway, I went ahead and put it back lol.
- The dots are gone! It was a texture to emphasize the blur effect, but the blur alone seems good enough.
- I made the font size bigger on the custom text, but I'll make it so you can easily adjust it on the layout without digging through the code, in case you want a different aesthetic later.
- Eagle Lake is back! I also made the font a little bigger for the link and nav module? Let me know if you want me to put that back to how they were. (I'll make the font size smaller on mobile if it's causing a problem, though.)
- The colors of the entries and links changed! Links also behave differently on hover.
- The corners are sharp again!
- And the control bar is back! It messes up a little bit of the mobile layout, so I'm going to play with that more later. Def let me know what you think of the styling, though. I was playing with making it similar to the entries instead of the link modules.

I might add a slight gradient to the entry backgrounds to make it pop a little more? I'll try that out, anyway. They seem flat right now, but we can keep the flat look if you like it. And I'll up the font size in the entry content, I think.

But anyway, I'm glad you're liking where this is going.

- I especially like the different levels of blurriness in the control bar versus the navigation strip. Control bar looks great.
- Font size is perfect. Very happy with the Eagle Lake. Would definitely appreciate making the layout easily adjustable/customizable, but I trust you bc you're always so good at that.
- Love the link hover effect on entries. Well done.

I'm interested to see what a gradient effect on the entries would look like. Not sure if I'd be into it, but if you want to give it a try, we can see! I agree that the entry font size could do to be a little bigger.

Hi! Returning again with a few edits, most of it just fixes to the sizes/styling and mobile view. I also added that gradient on the entries and a text shadow to the custom text. They probably aren't all that noticeable, the latter especially. They're both meant to be subtle.

I also keep forgetting to ask. Would you like the "Top of Page" link? I currently have it removed, but we can easily add it back in.

If it's not too much/too late, could I add in a request for something interesting for blockquote formatting? Just like a slightly darker background or outline or something. I always really enjoy that effect.
