[2] Blank Sticky Entries; Layout Add-On

imgur album previews here!
Code:
❖ Make your entry in question a sticky entry. Go to Display and scroll down to 'IDs or URLs of Sticky Entries.' Enter your entry's url in the first blank. This will make your entry appear at the top of your journal forever. ❖ Go to Customize Your Theme and paste the code into the 'Use embedded CSS' field. If you already have a layout code in there, just tack this onto the bottom. It won't hurt anything. ❖ CTRL+F for 0000 in the code. It'll appear a lot. You'll have to replace this number with your entry's ID number. For example, let's say I wanted to apply this code to this entry. The url for this entry is https://killthecake.dreamwidth.org/19374.html so I would use the numbers 19374 for the ID. ❖ If you want to keep your current journal layout but have the minimalist approach on your first sticky entry, like a navigation code or fancy text, then this is what this code provides. All of your other entries and your journal layout will remain the same. ❖ This code comes with the edit button still available on your journal for easy access. It won't be seen by anyone but you when you're logged in. ❖ If your current layout makes changes to links or text, then those changes will apply to this code if you use the text option for management links. You can still use the icon option, as shown in the examples. ❖ If your custom layout creates its own sidebar, then there may be cases that the entry won't be centered. If this happens, you'll need to add margins on the left and right like so: #sticky-entry-0000 {The top and bottom number must be put at the default value of 0 unless you want to play around with it. ❖ If you run into a problem with installation or customizing or what have you, let me know. |
