Hi! I'm sorry it's been so long, but I got a mock-up together for you over here. When you install this, you'll have to make the nav entry a sticky post and then set the journal to only show 1 entry at a time. I'll tell you how to do these things later, but they'll make it look just like a splash page. In the example I linked, I don't have it set to just 1 entry (I wanted to show the whole journal to you), but it'll basically be nothing else on the page aside from your navigation.

I also made it so that the navigation links are black in an entry page but gold on the journal itself, just to make the links pop a little.

And if you hover over the top of the page, the control bar will come into view. I don't know if you use that, but I've been getting requests lately to leave it in, so let me know if you like it there or not.

But anyway! Yeah, let me know what you think about all of it, from the design to the colors. If you don't like any of it, then we can start over from scratch, no problem.
