Requests & Commissions
Requests
❖ Requests are free! ❖ A request is anything that's kinda vague, like asking for more thread trackers or a muselist with dropdown elements. Something that you want made publicly available and wouldn't be a big project for me. ❖ Requests are prioritized beneath something I'm already working on and commissions. Essentially, I'll get to it when I can, but I will get to it. ❖ If you want a biosheet, layout, something personalized, or something only you can use, then it would be a commission.
Commissions
❖ I take all commission payments through my PayPal. You can also consider joining the Patreon for exclusive content or checking out my Ko-Fi Shop for previously exclusive codes! ❖ General Codes $3: Navigations, muselists, playlists, etc. ❖ Personalized Biosheets $15: Images of your character/PB will be included. ❖ Extras:❖ Journal Layouts $45: Includes icon page, tag page, archive, and mobile friendliness. ❖ Editing Existing Layouts $30: If you want something that's already around personalized for your purposes.❖ Plurk Layouts $50: Can include animated effects, specialized dash, dark mode appearance, etc. The Chrome extension Plurk Jailbreak is recommended to make the layout look as intended but is not necessary. ❖ Game Info Pages $80: Includes navigation, premise, rules/faq, applications, reserves, hiatus/drop, event templates, mod comment templates, taken, player contact, locations/businesses/employment, abilities/traits, profiles, advertisements, and anything else that your game may need. If you only need certain pages overhauled and not the whole package, we can work out a price on a case-by-case basis. ❖ Larger Commissions $90+: Game apps, websites, front-end UI/UX design, back-end database setups, etc etc. Price varies based on a case by case basis and I give no guarantees that I'll take your commission. But if you have an idea of something you want to get done beyond the scope of DreamWidth, I can probably help you. Largely depends on my skillset and free time. If you want examples of the things I do, check out my GitHub. |

Re: journal layout commission
I haven't updated the preview journal, but I did change the look on my personal machine just a little bit regarding the header text. I was wondering what you thought about this brighter look on the text as opposed to the dark look, to see if I was understanding correctly.
About the header texture, I agree that it could use a different vibe, and I absolutely love the image you used for this example. If you have that image somewhere, I'd love to use it for this. I can make it so it doesn't repeat and everything.
As for entries, I'll definitely make a note to move the username over. It makes sense to have it under the icon, you're totally right. I haven't started editing the entry page yet, but it's good to know because I probably would have overlooked that detail, lol.
I should have more time to focus on this project now, but feel free to take your time in getting back. Thanks again!
Re: journal layout commission
i'm so glad you liked the header image! here is a drive link to the original image, and here is the size i used for the screenshot i sent you (resized to 1800×286).
i like the brighter look for the header text a lot, but there's something about the drop shadow effect on the text, both light and dark, that gives it a kind of chromatic aberration look against a textured background, which IS cool but not quite what i'm going for. i think it would be most legible with a more uniform stroke/outline around the header text, but as far as i know the text-stroke effect in CSS isn't widely supported yet/is still experimental. as much as i really want to keep the gradient on the text (it looks so cool!!!), i'm not sure if there's a way to make it work against a textured background :c the only alternative i can think of at the moment is going back to the dark purple for the header text, which would be a little plainer but i think would otherwise mesh well with the colors. if you have any other ideas about how we could keep the very-cool-looking gradient on the header, though, i would love to see them!
Re: journal layout commission
But anyway, I hear ya about the header font. I updated the preview journal with the new image and did something different with the text. We can change the color, of course, but I made it more solid and added the text shadows. The gradient is also still there but as a shadow.
I did try digging into doing a text stroke. I didn't think it was compatible across browsers either, but it turns out that it is now! But it didn't look very good. The stroke was very large no matter what I did. :(
But!! I feel like we're on to something with this idea. Let me know what you think when you get the chance. Thanks!
Re: journal layout commission
i think we're good on the header finally! thank you so much for working with me to find the perfect style, i know it was a bit of back and forth. but i'm very happy with how it's coming along :D
you mentioned you hadn't gotten to the entry page yet, so let me know if you need my input on anything else for the time being!
Re: journal layout commission
But anyway! I'm glad you like the header. I went ahead and added lots of updates to the journal. The entry pages are looking much better now, as are the tags and archive pages. (If you can't see those, let me know and I'll take some screenshots.) I've also got it mobile-friendly, so let me know what you think of that layout. It's mostly the same, but the sidebar is moved to the top and the links are in a row instead of in a column.
At this point, we're basically in the final stages, so let me know of anything big or small that you'd like to change or tinker with. Thanks again!
Re: journal layout commission
everything is looking wonderful! i can see the archive and tag pages and they look great. the entry pages are also looking fantastic -- the only thing i want to request is one last text size increase (i tested it in the dev tools to make sure this is in fact the font size i want, so this is the last time, i promise!) of 16px on the entry text and 14px on the date/tag text.
the only odd thing i noticed that wasn't there before is that there's a single pixel line going through gradient scroll on the links (screenshot here). this is the first time i've seen it, and it only appears in firefox (it seems fine in chrome and safari), so maybe it's something displaying weird on my end?
otherwise, i think this layout is ready to go and i am so excited to use it! i'm not sure if you generate invoices for your commissions, but i'm ready to send over payment any time.
i also wanted to ask if you might be available in the near future to do a matching taken list code for the game, but it's not time sensitive so no worries if you have too many other projects going on right now!
Re: journal layout commission
As for that pixel line, I can't seem to recreate the problem. I've tried it on Chrome and Firefox, with and without stylesheets, and I keep seeing the normal gradient. Can you let me know if the issue is still persisting on your end after a hard refresh/clearing cache or something? It's ok if you don't wanna go through all that, but I'm just not sure what's causing the problem.
Anywho, whenever you're ready, payment can be sent directly to Paypal. I don't usually make up invoices for DW commissions, but I can totally do so for your records if you want one. The price for the layout is $45.
And I'm totally up for making a taken page! I find those pretty fun. We can make it a traditional listicle, have the different sections be dropdowns, have an index up top that players can click to easily, etc etc. Let me know what you're thinking whenever you have the chance! Thanks! ♥
Re: journal layout commission
re: the weird line -- don't worry about it! it was persisting after a cache clear, but it's gone for me now, so it must have been a weird client-side hiccup.
no invoice needed! i sent payment over, but let me know if there's any issue with it.
Re: journal layout commission
I'm going to check the layout over one more time to make sure it's all cleaned up and send it over to you tomorrow with some installation instructions. I'll also give that weird line another check to see if anything's changed on my end, but I'm glad it's gone for you now!
Anyway, thank you again! I'll send over the code as soon as I can. ♥
