Flash Sale!
How this works! Every now and then, I'm going to open up flash sales. This will usually just be for cheap layouts, but there may be other subjects in the future. However, for these flash sales, I'm working on a first come, first served basis. There will almost always be only 10 slots available, so if you're not one of the first ten, you might have to wait until the next sale.
Plurk Layout - $15 *
Dreamwidth Layout - $45
Plurk Layout - $50
Terms:
- One slot/layout per person.
- Only accepting payment via Paypal.
- No DW points for compensation at this time.
- * Most Plurk layouts will likely need the Plurk Jailbreak extension for Chrome to be viewed correctly. This is not a strict requirement, we can make your Plurk layout pretty without it, but it is advised to have.

❖ I missed a sale and don't want to wait for another one!
Fair! I take regular commissions and also have a Patreon for more exclusive content.
❖ When is your next sale?
Whenever I have the time or the inclination. I'm not going to put a firm date rotation on these.
❖ What are your usual prices?
You can check out everything on my commissions page.
❖ What's the turnaround on these bad boys?
Depends, unfortunately. If you're first in line and are asking for a fairly simple code, maybe a couple of days at most. If you're at the end of the line, we might be looking at a few weeks. I'll keep you updated on the time table, and you can always reach out if you have any questions. If it's taking too long, you're free to remove your name from the list. I'll send you a full refund.
❖ Can I take a spot even though I don't know what I want?
Sure! We can do this a few ways.
- You and I can go back and forth and workshop on it. I've got plenty of questions that might help you narrow things down. I'll be working on other commissions while we're doing this, at least until we have something in mind.
- You can just hold on to the slot! Feel free to consider it an IOU on my part for something in the future.
- If you take a slot but don't reply to my messages, that's also okay. The slot will still be there for you (if it's paid at this point). However, if I hear no response by the time I'm done with the other commissions, I may go ahead and open another sale. Your slot is still there, but your space won't take up another. I'll just keep a note that you've got that IOU whenever I hear from you again.
- If I lose contact with you and you haven't paid for the slot after X amount of time passes, a few months or so, I'm going to send you a final notif and drop the commission. No more IOU.
❖ Can I take a slot for a friend/in the name of someone else?
Sure can! Unless this is some sort of surprise, though, I expect to eventually talk to the person this is for. If they say they don't want the commission, I'll drop it and refund whoever sent the money in the first place.
❖ I took a slot on your last sale. Can I take a slot on the next?
Yep! The usual limit is one slot per person per sale, unless stated otherwise.
❖ Where do we send payment? Will you take DW points?
Paypal! If I'm willing to take points, I'll let you know on this post, but that'll be kind of rare.
❖ When do I pay?
At any point you're comfortable with, so long as it's before delivery.

Layout Type: Dreamwidth
Details Time: Will be coming back to this later, but it'll definitely be an rp journal! Do you do splash pages?
no subject
And yes, I do splash pages! I've done more traditional looking ones along with some "fakes" meant to mimic a splash page design. There's this version where I take a header or another module and make it the full screen height, so there's more content when the user scrolls down, and then there's this version that keeps everything in a compact box.
I'm also up for trying something new if your vision is really different from these, too. I know some people have made splash pages that will act as a type of pop-up on the screen, which will be fun to try out. Anyway, take your time and thanks again!

the journal i'm going to be using it for is

I have some awesome ideas for your layout that'll mostly consist of making liberal use of a sticky entry while "hiding" the rest of your journal. What I'm thinking is that we can hide most of the layout, p much just make it white, and make a code for your sticky entry that's basically a very large gridded visuals post that takes up the whole screen dynamically. (Sort of like how these images are spaced about in this code but with more images and taking up much more space.) I could either make some of these images into links, leave space between the images for links, or keep the link module floating on the page somewhere.
Let me know what you think of this! I could use my skills in MS Paint to try to draw a mock-up for you if you want. I find I explain things better that way, lol.
Regardless, this is going to take me a few days to get to, so thank you for your patience! I am excited to get started on this, though. I love this sort of clean aesthetic.

oh, one thing i forgot—i prefer rounded corners, if that's ever relevant! usually border-radius 15 is the sweet spot for me.
thank you for taking this on, i'm so excited to see what you come up with!!!

For the links module, having it float in a line at the bottom of the page would be the easiest option, imo. It'll also give you the flexibility to add a bunch of links if you wanted to or remove links as you wanted.

At this stage, I'm wondering if you're fine with that or would rather remove some of the spaces for images in this. There's enough room for 20 images if you didn't want to use just plain colors or gradients for some of these spaces, so there is a whole lot we can cut out if you wanted to. Personally, from a designer's pov, I think either way will work depending on the images/colors you decide to ultimately use.
Anyway, let me know what you think! Thanks!

I could also have a lot of images for full-screen view and make a lower number for mobile use. Like have the full 20 spaces for a wide space but use the 10 spaces version for mobile space. Making the code will be a little more complicated and the visual won't have that effect when viewing the entry code instead of directly on the journal, but it could be interesting! It just all depends on how many spaces you want to play with. :) Thanks!

Also, when you view this on your own journal, you'll have the "edit entry" option available to click on, seen here. This just gives you easy access to edit the entry's code without letting other users see.
I didn't edit the entries themselves much aside from simple clean up (justify the text, center the footer links, remove the user icon, etc). This is because I removed the "previous" and "next" links for the journal, but I could add them back in. I also haven't touched on the entry, tags, icons, and archive pages just yet. It is mobile ready, though!
Anyway, let me know what you think of this. It's pretty simple but I think it came out looking really cool, imo. :) I am eyeing my little credit watermark in the bottom corner, though, and kind of debating on removing it entirely, lmao. Let me know if you have ideas on where to put that if you don't like it there.
Also, just for the curious, there's a media property in CSS that allows me to make different designs for different screen widths (and other options, like when someone's browser is set to dark mode and such). This is how I was going to make the number of images dynamic depending on the device. ♥

i am still interested in this layout, if you're still willing to work with me! i feel like part of why i struggled to respond for so long that it got to the forgetting point is that i can't really visualize what it'd look like with the images filled in—would it be possible for me to get the code to plug my images into so i can see what it looks like, or would you prefer i send you links for you to plug in yourself?
again, really sorry to have ghosted so bad, thank you very much for your superhuman patience!

if you want to wait for me to have power again to get the images myself, no problem, but if you just want to get this done, the character's pinboard is here. any images i would send you were going to be from there anyway, i was just gonna try to make a nice list and coordinate ~an aesthetic~, haha

I did put together some of the images for the code. You can check it out over here whenever you get the chance. Hope everything goes well for you at home!

oooh now that i see it with actual images, i do like the look of it!! i wonder how it would look with a background image, say something like this? i'm not sure that would improve it any though tbh!
no subject
I didn't even consider adding a bg image, but that sounds pretty cool. It makes the layout kind of busy but it also works really well! I edited the preview journal here with just the additional background (and changed the link text color to white). I also tried something out with a filter, if you think this looks better. Just wanted to show you different options of the same idea.

Really glad you're happy with the overall look, though. Would you like the entry pages styled, as well? I know we were focusing on this being a splash page layout, but just wanting to see if you wanted the full makeover, which would include a stylized tags page, icons page, and archive. (Regardless, I'll make sure they aren't totally broken if someone happens to have settings that allowing them to see all that on another user's journal (I think that's a thing?? I can't remember lol))

If you want, I could go ahead and send the codes over, let you try them out, and we can update it further if you do want the styling! I also updated the live preview but there's very little changes on the surface. If you're happy with it, I can just send it over!
